Health insurance help

25

Many people who do not have health insurance may be eligible to get it, according to the “Foundation for Health Coverage Education”:http:www.coverageforall.org, a not-for-profit organization that helps people sign up for coverage.

The group has a Health Coverage Eligibility Tool that leads people through five questions that can help them locate financial benefits and free or low-cost health benefits. The questions include your current insurance status, what population category you are in, number of members in your household and monthly income, age of applicant, and special health conditions. It can be accessed on the organization’s website.

People can also call the U.S. Uninsured Help Line at 800-234-1317, which provides live one-on-one assistance and is staffed 24/7 with information specialists and interpreters who speak multiple languages.
