Grants of up to $5,000 are available for work sites in Rockland that want to create health and wellness programs that increase physical activity and good nutrition while reducing exposure to cigarette smoke. The money will be awarded by the Rockland Department of Health, which received $20,000 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for the program.
Examples of projects that could qualify include walking trails, creation of employee exercise space or creation of permanent health and wellness bulletin boards.
Contact the Department of Health at 845-364-3786 for information.
