Steinglass appointed VP at Good Sam

Kenneth M. Steinglass, a thoracic and vascular surgeon, has been appointed vice president of medical affairs at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern. He will oversee all aspects of clinical care at Good Samaritan Hospital and will act as a liaison between the hospital and its medical staff. He will also coordinate clinical, regulatory and medical issues between the hospital and its parent organization, Bon Secours Charity Health System.

Steinglass received his bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from Yale University in 1968 and his M.D. magna cum laude from Harvard Medical School in 1972. He completed his residency in general surgery at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center between 1972 and 1977, followed by a fellowship in thoracic and cardiovascular surgery at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine between 1977 and 1979. He later founded Rockland Thoracic Associates in Pomona.

In the 1980s, Steinglass served Good Samaritan Hospital both as chief of thoracic surgery and chief of vascular surgery. From 1985-2000 he also served as section chief of thoracic and vascular surgery at Nyack Hospital. From 1991 until his retirement as clinical professor of surgery in 2006, Steinglass was director of general thoracic surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital – Columbia University Medical Center. Since 2006, Steinglass has served on the Board of Directors of Bon Secours Charity Health System.
