Free skin cancer screening in Scarsdale

May is skin cancer awareness month. To recognize it, several health facilities are offering free screenings. Here’s one coming up on Wednesday:

WHO: Dermatology Consultants of Westchester.

WHERE: 2 Overhill Road in Scarsdale.

WHEN: May 21 (Wednesday) from noon to 5 p.m.

WHY: Because melanoma can be cured if it is treated in its earliest stages, but fewer than 1/3 of Americans have their skin examined.

**There is no cost, but an appointment must be made by calling 914-725-1800. Walk-ins may not be accommodated.
