Last week for back-to-school shots

With most schools opening next week, the Westchester County Health Department is reminding parents and guardians to make sure their children have the immunizations required by New York Start to start school on time.

Free vaccinations are being offered to children who have neither health insurance nor a primary care provider through the county’s Health Department.

At the free immunization clinics, parents and guardians will get help signing up children for health insurance. Families without a regular doctor will receive information about where to go for pediatric primary care.

Call the Westchester County Department of Health’s district offices to make an appointment for immunization through October 16.

The office phone numbers are:

Yonkers, 231-2523; White Plains, 995-5800; New Rochelle, 813-5525.
