1 in 4 girls are getting the HPV vaccine

About one-quarter of girls in the country got the three-series Gardasil shot which is expected to protect them from cervical cancer, a government study released today showed.

The controversial vaccine,  prevents girls from getting the sexually transmitted human papillomavirus, or HPV, which has been known to cause cervical cancer.
